Al Ain Amblers Youth Rugby consists of 17 teams ranging in age from U6 to U19. Approximately 200 boys and girls are coached, managed and mentored by 18 volunteer coaches and assistant coaches working under the guidance of the Director of Sport and Youth Teams Manager.

 

Teams play Ripper (tag) Rugby up to U8 with contact elements being gradually introduced in a controlled fashion starting from U9/U10.

 

Teams are mixed gender up to U12. After U12 the girls continue with Ripper until U15 before transitioning to full contact.

The Youth Rugby season runs from October to March and includes various local tournaments and club days as well as league fixtures starting from U11.

 

The older players also compete annually in the Gulf U19 Boys Invitational and Gulf U19 Girls Invitational at the Dubai 7s.

 

League matches and club days take place on Fridays while tournaments are generally scheduled over a whole weekend.
